A bacterial disease that spread through the bacteria is called as cholera and it is caused due to the contaminated water. Dehydration and diarrhea and caused due to cholera. Cholera is a chronic infection of the small intestine which can infect the person of any age at any time of his lifespan. Untreated cholera is very fatal and even in the healthy people. Advancement in technology reduces chances of the illness in developed countries. The chances of the cholera are increased in the poverty, war and highly populated areas without any adequate sanitation.
Causes:
It is caused by a different of types of bacteria named Vibrio cholera. Some types produce more severe disease while others may cause only the mild one. It mostly spread by contaminated water and food containing the bacteria.
Symptoms:
Symptoms of this deadly infection may include following
- watery diarrhea
- Vomiting
- muscle cramps dehydration
- electrolyte imbalance sunken eyes
- cold skin
- decreased skin elasticity
Treatment:
Cholera vaccines are available to save humanity from these infections ailment. But if the bacteria get success to infect then antiviral drugs with rehydration fluids are recommended.
