Dr. Maria is a very good psychologist. I started taking therapy sessions from her 1 year ago and i think it is the best decision my family and i took to select Dr. Maria for my treatment. Ms. Maria is an extremely good healing practioner in her field. She knows how to do diagnosis and make the patient aware of the disease in such a way that the patient is willing to work on himself/herself. She treated on my concentration/focus issues and many other matters in a very productive way that it improves my focus issue very well. Besides this, there are many domains/matters which i discussed with her and she guided me how to deal with people in a positive way and not to react on them rather do response practice. In addition to this she trained me how to make decisions keeping in mind the consequences of the decision and improves my confidence in that. There was never a point in my life where it occurred to me that I should go for therapy. I had always thought that because I had never been through a major traumatic incident, I didn’t need therapy. I couldn’t recommend Maria enough to anyone suffering from any form of anxiety, depression, family/relationship conflicts or career coaching. Her rationality and sheer understanding of the way our minds work is a rare find and I believe anyone can benefit from this.

During my time with Maria, I never felt that I was holding anything back and that is rare. I saw 3 different therapists before this, none of which really understood and helped me articulate my thoughts like Maria did, this i believe comes from her years of experience and naturally calm and caring demeanor.

Now that my sessions have temporarily come to a close, I feel that I know myself in a much more clear and coherent way. I understand where my triggers lie when it comes to my anxiety and how to manage them. My relationships, especially with my family are stronger and I have, with Maria’s help, managed to set my own boundaries and stick to them.

Even during lockdown when i was put at risk of redundancy, Maria adapted our sessions to some career coaching to help me get back on track. Again, I was blown away with her abundance of experience and fast thinking adaptivity to cater for the unpredictable times we have been living in (for the past 3 months especially).

During the first 4-5 sessions, Maria educated me on the impact anxiety has on your body, where it comes from, the scientific understanding of it and techniques to help manage it. This I believe was crucial to my healing. Once I had physical control over my anxiety, we were then able to delve deeper into the triggers. Maria helped me understand things about myself that I would have never been able to achieve alone. Her knowledge and experience really shone through in every aspect of my sessions.

I undertook 6 months of therapy with Maria and it's 6 months I believe has changed my life forever. Maria was professional, eloquent, and non-judgmental. I sought out therapy primarily to help tackle my anxiety and to find someone who can help me understand my thought processes in a more coherent way. I suffered daily from anxiety and my negative thought processes were holding me back a great deal in my relationships with others and above all, myself.

The science approach from Maria appealed to me as I’m not really into the ‘how do you feel about that’ approach constantly. Maria challenged me, was blunt with me, tested me, but also listened to me and never forgot a previous conversation. I’ve recommended her to numerous friends since and I know she’s helped them massively too.

My therapy was supposed to just be about work, but Maria delved into my past and roots and made me see why I was struggling in relationships too. Just like work, I was aiming to please people and feeling like a failure when I couldn’t fix everything. I’m now much more confident and comfortable with who I am, and I understand my feelings more. I’ve been in a great relationship for almost two years now.

I started to see Maria as a work coach at a time when I was frustrated with my job and felt like I was working myself into the ground, but not getting any returns. She gave me invaluable advice that made me think about my needs and my worth. Her support made me realise I wasn’t failing, which was an issue for me. Within weeks, I’d left my job. My new confidence meant that, when I was offered a new job, I was able to ask for the role and salary I wanted without feeling like an imposter or that I didn’t deserve it. I’m now in a job I love, and have just been promoted!

This is just to thank you for your help with regards to my ADHD problems, the treatment is working really well and I'm so glad I've been able to do in the last couple of months the work I wasn't able to do in many years. 

I have been attending weekly sessions with Maria Bukhari since early 2020... I started my search for a therapist on the Internet. Once I found her website (which is presented very well) I began to browse the therapists/counsellors as I knew a little about what I was looking for - Maria was one of my choices given her broad expertise. Over the last year or so Maria has worked with me to help me identify the real deep rooted issues I was battling, address my hurt and physical and mental pain (which resulted in anger mgt issues I felt) and begin to develop a sense of myself, someone I can now be proud of. My goal was to stop feeling depressed and distressed, but Maria has helped me achieve so much more through therapy.
