Asking for Father, Male, 60 years old, Sargodha
In April 2019, Liver Cirhossis patient got fever due to perinephric abscess on right kidney, got redness in right eye then vision loss. Dr said he has swelling, gave Maxidex, Cyclopen,Nevonac drops. A month ago eye pressure increased to 22, then after having glazol t drops for 2 weeks, pressure comes to normal. 5 days ago pressure was 2, dr advised to stop glazol t. Just taking Maxidex drops for redness. Worried about vision loss, Kindly guide for best treatment.
maxidex is for inflammation in eyes. it causes increased eye pressure. if patient is again using maxidex, it can increase pressure again.so patient needs alternative drops. vision loss results due to inflammation and its complication so it must be controlled properly

Walaikum Assalaam Sir, Thanku so much for ur concern. I visited a private eye hospital today. Drs said that due to infection of perinephric abscess, patient has no vision at right eye. And this can further affect left eye so we must take care of left eye sight.

definitely swelling is controlled by steroid drops.... but patient is also steroid responder..... was there any test or investigation done to reach the cause of his occular swelling? that is very important to treat the patient

Thanku so much Sir. Just An ultrasound has been done. No other tests. Today i visited other private hosp. Drs r saying that infection due to perinephric abscess is behind this vision loss. And patient should go for abscess removal through Guided Ultrasound. Now they want to scan left eye so they can check its condition.
