person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 25 years old, Riyadh

I have pcos, have one 5 year old son, and had a miscarriage last year, now I am about 11 weeks pregnant, taking glucophage (500mg×2) , duphaston and pregnacare. I am feeling quite nauseated from last day because of which I can't eat or drink properly, all I crave for are sweet things like chocolate cookies etc, can I have them at this stage or is it better to abstain

It is normal to have different food cravings during pregnancy. You may take what ever you like but dont take the sweets in excess.

Dear, cravings in pregnancy for certain foods is a normal phenomenon.if u
dont have diabetes, you can go for taking these things at this stage of
your pregnancy.but make sure u dont gain weight too excessively over
all..healthy weight gain till term for you would be 8-9 kg.

Oh! Can excessive weight gain lead to gestational diabetes or any other problem of that sort?
I have already gained about 2kgs(12 weeks pregnant now) as I was prescribed complete bedrest, should I start avoiding carbs and go back to the diet I had before pregnancy because of pcos?
