Talk to Gynecologist on Fertility Test

Asking for Self, Male, 30 years old, Lahore

I'm not sure what sort of doctor I need to see or the tests I need to take. I got married in April and now there's a silent "social pressure" about the 'good news'. While everything seems all right still there isn't any news. Therefore, before I ask my better half to undergo any tests, I'd prefer to take the lead and consult a doctor or to take required tests/treatment. Need proper guidance about it

Ideally you should wait for one full year before undergoing any tests or consulting a doctor unless you already have issues like irregular menstrual cycle or if your age is more than 35. I can understand the family and social pressure but the more stress you take the more delay it will cause in conceiving. For now if your cycles are regular calculate your fertile or ovulation days (you can download many apps that can help), and try to have ic in those days. Also start folic acid supplements. Wishing you all the best

Thanks you for your reply doctor. And this looks helpful. However if I understand it right the answer addresses females... And I am male. So is there any suggestion for myself?

First of all I am sorry that I did not see that the question has been asked by male. Anyways it is good to know that you are concerned. For males you can go for a semen analysis whenever you feel ready or after 1 year of trying. Semen analysis is a simple test that helps rule out any problems on the male side that may cause difficulty in conceiving.

Than you for you reply doctor. I wanted to know where can I take this test? Is that a walk in Test at any good lab or do I need a doctor's prescription for that?
