Asking for Wife, Female, 25 years old, Lahore
My wife is pregnant .. this is her second week. I have to apply her visa for UK. there is Chest X-Ray TB screening test requirement for UK Visa. My Question is ; Is it safe to go for Chest X-Ray for TB screening while she is pregnant. I have tried to get maximum information from internet , but some forums are saying it's safe and some are saying, it's not safe.
My request to gynecologists in this forum to please advise on this matter.
Below is the protection, Lab is offering us, but her gynecologist is not recommending her and saying that would be our decision and she would not recommend any x-ray.
"an x-ray with an extra shield to protect you and your unborn child in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters "
This is very early pregnancy like uou said 2 weeks. xrays if required are done after 13 weeks. As the first trimester is the period where organs formation is done and radiations are dangerous in that period. wait till she passes this time. And than she can hava xray with andominal shield. Thanks
Xray if required can be done after 18 weeks after sheilding the abdomen of pregnant patient

We have done xray with abdominal shield in 5th weeks of pregnancy. is it safe , my wife has done anomalies scan in 20th weak, the report says all looks fine. is there any other test, we can go for it to make sure all fine, our baby is healthy, and there is no problem with eyes and other organs.
