Talk to Orthopedic Surgeon on Disc Herniation

person-avatar

Asking for Mother, Female, 57 years old, Karachi

From last 2.5 months my mother is experiencing severe pain in her legs, feeling like muscle spasm in her thighs and calves and difficulty in walking. She has no pain in her back. MRI shows disc herniation at lumber levels. Doctor prescribed her muscle relaxant NSAID and belt for her back. Is physiotherapy good for her? Is chiropractor help?

yes physiotherapy can help. she needs to modify the life style and weight loss will also be helpful. if the symptoms worsen or there is progressive neurological involvement, surgery is the only option left. meanwhile continue the same medicine and start injectable methycobal as well.
