Talk to Pulmonologist / Lung on Chest/ Rib Pain

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 25 years old, Karachi

I've been suffering from rib pain for the past 2 months. The pain is in one of the lower rib on the right side of my chest. I had severe cough and the doctor diagnosed me with reversible airways disease and thought the pain is also because of the cough with the treatment the cough went away but the rib pain is still there which gets worse with physical activity and radiates to the back of my chest. I can also feel the pain when I press my rib. The xray reports were normal but my hemoglobin was 7.6 and the platelete count was aslo slightly elevated. Kindly guide me what could pe the possible cause of the pain?

Pulmonologist / Lung Specialist in Abbottabad - Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Yasin

This pain is seemingly muscular in origin. As you told about x Ray ,your normal X Ray suggests there is no significant bone problem. some time pain persists for longer time. not to worry much. but you can consult local pulmonary physician.
