Asking for Father, Male, 66 years old, Wah Cantt
My father was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of liver 2 year back. He is on medication since 2 years but now the condition is going worse now and there is water gathered in his belly. As per the latest reports, AFP value is 526 (sign of developing a tumor) and the doctor still kept him on the same old medication. My father is unable to get relief and feeling pain in his body around his belly and stomach area. He is unable to sit or stand properly due to the pain. Pleas I Need an immediate suggestion and doctor recommendation for 2nd opinion. Latest reports are attached with prescription.
Patient is a known case of diabetese and heart disease. Apart from end stage liver disease, this rising AFP level needs triphasic ct scan abdomen to rule out liver cancer. Liver transplant option is borderline in our country considering his cardiac condition. As one of his report is also showing portal vein thrombosis so he may not be a candidate of transplant. Medicine can be revised but it is better to ask your local gastroenterologist as i am lahore based.
