Is oil pulling beneficial for teeth and gums? And can we do oil pulling if tooth is filled?

Member of Marham-Forum

Hello Dr. Muhammad Adil Khan can you please help here ?

Dentist in Lahore - Dr. Muhammad Ahad Shabbir

oil pulling has been around for sometime and has proven beneficial for many in terms of prevention. however it should not be adopted as an alternative for home oral health care methods (ie brushing) instead can be used as an add on to the usual oral health care.

the benefits depends more on the oil used and the amount of time the method is performed.

please keep in mind that it does not effect on teeth that have already decayed or are broken down. the process is known to decrease bacteria activity in mouth and does not cure it altogether.
if the filling is done good and does not have any micro leakage then oil pulling in my opinion will not be problem.
