Lambur Spine L5-S1

Actually problem with Lambur spine, L5-S1 disc compressed and hit the traversing Nerve on the left side, pain in left leg not so severe but surviving from 2 months. I do MRI and doctor advised me for surgery but I am scared. Can you suggest me what should I do sir is this problem fixed with physiotherapy or with chiropractic??

Oral Anelgesics are advised but they should be stomach friendly, spine physio and the epidural anelgesic injection are the non operative options.
