Can we give goat milk to an infant of 1 month as breast milk is not available. And what about formula milks are they good? Which is the best option?

Member of Marham-Forum

You can't give goat milk to an infant as it has very low levels of iron and it's prolonged use causes iron deficiency anemia so first try for increase breast milk .give a try to tab hi lacta one tablet thrice a day for 2 weeks will increase mother's milk production,it's best for baby .still if mother's breast feed is insufficient then give formula milk which is iron fortified like meigi morinaga bf one.

Goat milk not recommended. because it causes megaloblastic anaemia due to folic acid deficiency. best is human milk if not available
formula is better than goat milk.
