Asking For Mother, Female 50, rawalpindi
My mother is 50 yrs old, from past 7-8 years she is having progressive stabbing pain involving the lower left jaw aggravating on touch,tooth brushing,eating,face washing and while talking.The pain appears continuously with varing intensity. SURGERY:In 2013 she had neurosurgery (GAMMA KNIFE RADIO SURGERY FOR LEFT TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA) .After this for almost 2 yrs she did have any pain in lower jaw but now she is having pain with same intensity as before . MEDICINE :she is having oral carbemazipine (TEGRAL)10mg and Liorsal 10mg BD.
it was correct diagnosis. but again she need s to have complete checkup and investigation s. there might be some other disease too, affecting the jaw.
ASA she needs to be seen by a doctor as this pain might be related to the heart also
This patient has trigerminal neuralgia.she needs neurosurgical consultation

neurosurgeon suggested us to for maxillofacial surgery or alcohol injection or a laser treatment in which they will freeze/cut the nerve of left jaw V3
but can you suggest which one is better and can you refer to any good surgeon in RAWALPINDI
