If you don’t realize how much salt you’re consuming but still you notice any of the below-mentioned signs, then you really need to reduce your salt intake.

1.You Feel Persistent Thirst:

Foods with a high amount of sodium make you feel thirsty because this helps to keep fluid inside your body cells. That’s why when you feel thirsty, your body tells you that there’s not enough water to support how much sodium is in your system. So, when you consume too much salt you feel thirsty most of the time and the best way to make up for this is to drink a lot of water.

2.Your Body Is Swelling From Strange Places:

Salty meals can instantly lead you to dreaded bloating. If you’ve had a dinner of too much salt then this could be the reason why feel bloated in the morning. Consuming too much salt can give you swelling in different parts of the body. It happens, when there is too much sodium in the blood, water leaves the cells and results in the swelling. The swelling can be felt in fingers and around the ankle and a simple solution for this is to cut back salt intake.

3.You’re Having Frequent Mild Headaches:

If you’re experiencing frequent mild headaches and you’re getting it for no apparent reason, then chances are that these headaches are dehydration-induced. Consuming too much salt gives you headaches due to dehydration. Moreover, it can also cause blood vessels in the brain to expand, which can lead you to mild to moderate headaches.

4.You Need To Urinate A lot:

Frequent urination is another classic sign that you are consuming too much salt. In such cases, you may feel an urgent need to wake up in the middle of the night to urinate. However, it can also be the sign of other medical conditions like diabetes and overactive bladder. So, it is always best to consult with the doctor to be sure what exactly the root cause is.

High sodium diets also increase the risk of kidney stones. So, try to reduce your sodium intake or else you could face some serious complications in the consequences. However, if you’re already experiencing something unusual with your body and health, then immediately consult with your doctor.
