Type 2 Diabetes

People who are obese are more likely to suffer from Type 2 Diabetes. By losing weight, eating well and exercise can decrease your chances of getting diabetes to great extent.


Osteoarthritis is a joint condition that mainly affects hip, knee or back. Too much weight puts pressure on our joints resulting in wearing away of the protective sheet cartilage; that provides cushioning to the joints. Losing weight can greatly reduce the pressure on knees, hip and lower back making the symptoms of osteoarthritis less painful. It’s always better to consult an orthopedic surgeon in case of severe pain in joints and back.

Sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is condition in which breathing disrupts while person is asleep. The more a person is obese the more likely he/she will have trouble breathing while sleeping. Sleep apnea can incur the problem of loud snoring and can put brief stop on breathing and in the morning it may cause daytime sleepiness.

Heart disease

Obesity can become a cause of hypertension and high cholesterol; both can lead to the symptoms of heart attack. Good news is losing weight can greatly reduce your chances of suffering from heart disease or stroke. In case of any discomfort and if symptoms of heart attack appear always check with your cardiologist
