    1. The Common Cold

The average adult may get 2-4 colds per year, while children may get several more. Lots of viruses can cause you the common cold, and the top known cause of a cold is an adenovirus, coronavirus, or rhinovirus. Cold symptoms are usually mild and last between a week and ten days. Self-treatment at home with comfort care and possibly over-the-counter medications to relieve symptoms is usually all that is required.
Cold viruses are spread through droplets, produced when someone coughs or sneezes nearby, or by touching surfaces contaminated with droplets, stool, or respiratory secretions. To reduce your chances of getting a cold, use standard preventative measures. These include:

    • Frequently washing your hands.
    • Use hand sanitizer when soap and water are unavailable.
    • Not touching your face.
    • Avoiding others who are sick.

    2. Influenza (The Flu)

The virus that causes the seasonal flu is influenza. Numerous influenza strains can cause flu symptoms, and the virus mutates year after year. Although the flu isn’t dangerous for everyone, hundreds of thousands of people in the United States are hospitalized each year due to it. Each year, it is estimated that between 250,000 and 500,000 people die from the flu worldwide.
While self-treatment is appropriate for mild cases, people at high risk for complications (such as pneumonia) may be treated with antiviral drugs by their healthcare provider. The best way to avoid the flu is to get a flu shot every year, and many studies have demonstrated that the vaccine is both safe and effective. If you are unsure whether it is appropriate for you and your family, consult your healthcare provider.

    3. Bronchitis

Bronchitis comes under the Most Common Kinds Of Viral Infections. Bronchitis can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or even chemicals, but the most common infection is viral. It can cause a persistent cough that lasts for weeks and is a common side effect of colds and the flu. Contact your doctor if you suspect you have bronchitis. The treatment you receive will be determined by your symptoms and the type of bronchitis you have.

    4. Gastroenteritis (Stomach Flu)

Gastroenteritis is also called stomach flu, is a common viral infection. This unpleasant illness is highly contagious and causes symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. Gastroenteritis differs from influenza (seasonal flu). Viruses such as rotavirus and norovirus, among others, can cause gastroenteritis.
The viruses that cause stomach flu are transmitted via feces, and the virus can be spread through contaminated food or water or contact an infected person. Handwashing and good sanitary practices can aid in the prevention of the spread of these viruses.

    5. Croup

Croup can be happened because of viruses, the most common of which are human parainfluenza virus types 1 and 3. It almost always affects young children, but it can be terrifying for both the child and their parent (s).
Croup is distinguished by a cough that resembles a seal barking. Some children may also experience stridor, a whistling sound made when the child inhales.
Croup is frequently treated at home by inhaling steamy or cold air. Approximately 60% of children recover within 48 hours. Mild cases that do not exhibit stridor or a drawing-in of the chest wall when breathing at rest do not require medication. A cough suppressant (dexamethasone) may be prescribed for those who show these symptoms. In severe cases, a treatment that promotes breathing is administered.

How Do You Treat Viral Infections?

The majority of viral infections resolve on their own within 10 to 14 days. In general, symptomatic treatment at home aids in the recovery from viral infections, though treatment may differ depending on the type of virus and the part of the body affected. The following tips may assist you in managing viral infections at home:

    • Make sure you are taking enough rest and sleep.
    • Stay hydrated, especially with water.
    • Take a warm shower or inhale the steam. A warm bath can relieve congestion and aches. Adults and children can take Non-medicated tablets over six to relieve sore throats.
    • Smoking should be avoided.
    • Protect yourself from pollution or cold air by wearing a mask.
    • Consume a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and lean meat.
    • Have ginger tea and other herbal teas.
    • Gargle with a mixture of salt and water.
