COVID19: Pfizer, BioNTech Vaccine Confirms 90% Success

November 10, 2020: On Monday, Pfizer and BioNTech mentioned that the COVID19 vaccine that they have jointly developed, proved to be more than 90% effective in preventing the COVID19 germs. This vaccine is the only one that has worked to develop a major fight against the pandemic that has killed over a million people.

“Today is a great day for science and humanity. The first set of results from our Phase 3 COVID-19 vaccine trial provides the initial evidence of our vaccine’s ability to prevent COVID-19,” said Dr Albert Bourla, Pfizer’s chief executive in a statement.

According to initial findings, the protection which was found in patients was achieved approximately seven days after the second of two doses, and 28 days after the first dose.

After the first set of results from the trials Phase 3 of COVID19, it was clearly shown that this vaccine has the ability to prevent COVID19.

According to the chief executive of Pfizer “We are a significant step closer to providing people around the world with a much-needed breakthrough to help bring an end to this global health crisis.”

This COVID19 vaccine has helped us in reaching this critical milestone in the vaccine development program at a time when the world needs it most. COVID19 pandemic infections are getting sky high and do not seem to come under control any time soon. The hospitals with hospital intensive care units filling up and death tolls are mounting.

1.3 Billion Doses Of Vaccine Will Be Available In 2021

Keeping the supply projections in consideration, the companies aim to supply at least up to 50 million vaccine doses globally in 2020, and approximately 1.3 billion doses in the upcoming year 2021.

There are many other vaccines at work and will be completing their trials to understand if they can actually work or not, meanwhile, Pfizer and BioNTech have done the works and aims to help people as soon as possible.
