The word dieting has become very popular in last few years. It seems like everyone intends to follow it at least once in their lifetime to see what magic it can incur their life. In get-togethers, men and women flaunt about what special diet they are on nowadays.

Some are on a Carb-free diet; others are on Protein diet whereas some are simply saying “NO” to food by going for Crash diet. Another diet that is becoming popular nowadays is Ketogenic diet or Keto diet.

Yes, it is possible with the keto diet. It’s a diet that is extremely low in carbs and high in healthy fats that ultimately makes your body a fat-burning machine. Do you want to know some exercise free ways to boost your metabolism?

Ok! In keto diet, Ketones are produced, Ketones are the molecules that our body produces when there is a short supply of glucose, so the word Keto is derived from the word ketones.

Keto diet lets the body produce more ketones by taking a low carb diet along with moderate amount of proteins. Ketones give energy to our brain solely produced from fats. By doing so insulin level in the body gets low (As fewer carbs are in the diet) making fat burn dramatically.

How does it Work?

A person has to take fewer carbs and a moderate amount of proteins however 70% of the diet should consist of healthy fats so that liver can break it down to produce ketones that are ultimately broken down by our body to produce energy. This diet helps our body take energy from our body fats rather than glucose, hence a person lose fat quickly.

Who shouldn’t Do it?

The ketogenic diet is not for you if:

  • You have a history of blood pressure
  • You are diabetic and on insulin
  • You are a mother who is breastfeeding

In order to follow this diet and to gain maximum results, a person should completely eliminate the intake of sugary drinks and starchy food such as pasta, bread etc and should focus on food that is rich in healthy fats such as cheese and butter.

Initially, you might feel little dizzy or exhausted but once you will get it right you will feel your energy levels going up.

  • Weight loss:

It can help a person lose weight, as you are taking a low-carb diet it will also reduce water retention in your body making you lose extra pounds.

It helps you gain control over your appetite as the body is busy burning fat which reduces feelings of hunger. These seven healthy snacks can also help to kill cravings.

  • Meal prep is fun:

It is essential to prepare meal beforehand so that you don’t grab something that has more carbs in it. Get experimental with meal preparation. Meal preparation becomes fun time as you will be adding more butter and cheese to your steaks.

  • Controls Blood sugar:

It controls sugar level in the body and is exceptional for reversing type 2 diabetes as your body won’t be producing too much glucose.

It’s another debate which diet is best for a human body. Every person has a different body type, BMI and metabolism rate hence one needs to know that if one diet has worked well on a friend it doesn’t mean it will serve the same purpose to you.
