Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the #SlimPossible campaign?
#SlimPossible is Pakistan's first-ever digital clinic for obesity management — a partnership between BF Biosciences and Marham. It connects patients with specialist obesity and diabetes care, making expert healthcare accessible, affordable, and trustworthy.
Which specialists can I consult for obesity management?
You can consult Endocrinologists (for hormonal causes), Bariatric Surgeons (for surgical evaluation), Medical Specialists, and Diabetologists. All are PMDC-verified and listed on marham.pk.
Is online video consultation available?
Yes. Most specialists offer online video consultations via Marham's platform. You can book, pay, and consult entirely from your phone — especially convenient for follow-ups, prescription renewals, and initial assessments.
How do I book an appointment?
Click any doctor card above → you will be taken to the doctor's full Marham profile. From there, choose date and time and complete payment via Marham's secure gateway. You'll receive confirmation via SMS and email with full appointment details.
When is bariatric surgery recommended?
Bariatric surgery is recommended when BMI is ≥40, or ≥35 with serious comorbidities (diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea) that haven't responded to lifestyle changes and medication. Our bariatric surgeons will evaluate your candidacy in a consultation.
How is diabetes linked to obesity?
Excess visceral fat causes insulin resistance, forcing the pancreas to overproduce insulin until it can no longer keep up — resulting in elevated blood sugar and Type 2 Diabetes. Losing just 5–10% body weight can significantly improve insulin sensitivity and even lead to early-stage remission.
Are all doctors on this page verified?
Yes. Every specialist on this page is PMDC-verified through Marham's onboarding process — credentials, clinic validation, and patient reviews are all checked. The list is filtered from Marham's network of 40,000+ verified doctors by relevant specialisation (Endocrinology, Diabetology, Medical Specialist, Bariatric Surgery).
What does an endocrinologist consultation include?
A consultation typically includes: medical history review, hormonal assessment (thyroid, adrenal, insulin), review of existing lab reports, medication evaluation (GLP-1 agonists, metformin, etc.), and a personalised management plan. Bring recent blood tests: HbA1c, thyroid panel, and lipid profile if available.
