I am satisfied with the doctor.
our recent experience has been deeply disappointing. On 12th January 2026, when my wife’s condition became unwell, I immediately brought her to the Gynecological Emergency Ward (2nd Floor) in Saifee Hospital. Unfortunately, My wife observed that there was no experienced staff present there—only two young girls, who were also unmarried and unexperienced, the behavior of the emergency staff was highly unprofessional. Instead of focusing on the patient, they were engaged in personal conversations like Pray that I get married soon, The tea is getting cold—drink it, Let’s order some samosas etc and did not show the seriousness required in an emergency situation. When we requested that the doctor be called, we were told that the doctor was “on call,” but no proper attention was given. Despite my wife clearly stating that she was not feeling well, we were sent home and asked to return after two days. When we returned on 14th January 2026, an ultrasound was done after much difficulty and even for reports we were sent back and forth between floors multiple times. After examination, Dr. Anjum Afshan stated that my wife’s condition was not stable and an immediate operation was required. So, we trusted the doctor’s decision. After the operation, our baby boy was taken to NICU. After about five hours, we were informed that the baby was fine. He was brought to our room, cried normally and took mother’s feed three times without any issue. However, during the Dr. Farrukh Naseem round, we were suddenly told that the baby was not well and needed to be admitted for 24 hours. From Thursday to Sunday, the baby remained admitted. Until Saturday, the baby was not given mother feed and was only given strong antibiotics, along with two plasma transfusions. When I got my baby admitted on Thursday, he was completely fine. He was crying normally, had a strong grip and his hand and leg movements were active and normal. However, during the admission, I observed something very worrying. Instead of improving, my baby’s condition appeared to be getting worse day by day. I noticed that he gradually stopped crying and his hand and leg movements became weak and reduced. It felt as if his body was becoming numb. This situation caused me great concern and because of this, I decided to get him discharged on Sunday. Another important observation is that after discharge, from approximately 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, my baby neither cried nor fed at all, which was highly unusual and alarming. Tragically, our baby did not survive. We firmly believe that the negligence, lack of proper assessment and unprofessional handling by the emergency staff and Dr. Anjum Afshan contributed to the loss of our child. My wife is still in severe trauma due to this loss.
