Our Story
It started with a sick father and a Facebook group.
In 2015, our co-founder Ehsan Imam’s father fell ill. Even educated and connected in a big city, Ehsan was lost. Which doctor? Is he any good? Where do I even start? If he was struggling, what about the millions of Pakistanis with far less access?
So he started a Facebook group where people could ask, “who is the right doctor for this?” and others who had been through it could answer. Asma Omer, the first girl in her family to go to school and to touch a computer, jumped in to help run it. The group exploded. Not with small talk, with desperation. Person after person asking the same thing: I don’t know who to trust.
A group could give hope. It could not give a system. So we built one. As students with no database, we collected doctor information by hand, sat with patients in hospital waiting rooms, and knocked on doctors’ doors one by one.
In Pakistan, the biggest gap in healthcare is not money. It is access to trusted information. We exist to close that gap.
Ten years later, we are still exactly that community, just with 40,000 doctors, a million patients served every year, and a path to improving 15 million lives by 2030.
