Yaz tablet uses include contraception, treatment of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and moderate acne in women who desire contraception. It contains Drospirenone (a progestin with anti-mineralocorticoid and anti-androgenic properties) and Ethinyl Estradiol (a synthetic estrogen). These hormones work together to prevent ovulation, thicken cervical mucus, and alter the uterine lining.

How to Take:
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Take 1 light pink active tablet daily for 24 consecutive days.
Then take 1 white placebo tablet daily for 4 days.
Start a new pack immediately after finishing the 28-day pack.
Take at the same time every day for maximum effectiveness.
Can be taken with or without food.
Start on the first day of your period or first Sunday after your period begins.
Take tablets in the order indicated on the blister pack.
If vomiting occurs within 4 hours, consider it a missed pill.
Don't use Yaz Tablet if you:
Have a history of blood clots
Have a history of stroke or heart attack
Have blood clotting disorders
Have coronary artery disease or cerebrovascular disease
Have breast cancer or other estrogen/progestin-sensitive cancer
Have liver disease or liver tumors
Have undiagnosed abnormal uterine bleeding

Does NOT protect against HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases
Use backup contraception if you miss pills or have vomiting/diarrhea

Avoid prolonged immobilization (long flights, bed rest after surgery)
Monitor potassium levels if taking potassium-sparing drugs or ACE inhibitors
