What is the procedure for Crown/Bridge PFM per unit?

Crown/Bridge PFM generally involves the following steps: 

Step 1: The dentist makes a space for the crown/bridge by removing a tooth structure. In some cases, local anesthesia is used to numb the specific area during surgery. 

Step 2: Once the tooth preparation is done, the dentist takes an impression of the teeth and surrounding tissues. A digital scanner may be used to create a digital impression. Traditional molds can also be used for custom-fit crowns/bridges. 

Step 3: The dentist places a temporary crown/bridge to protect the tooth while the permanent crown/bridge is being prepared. In this step, you will be instructed by the dentist to properly take care of the temporary restoration. 

Step 4: Once the permanent crown/bridge PFM is prepared, the dentist removes the temporary restoration. With the help of dental adhesives, the crown/bridge PFM is bonded to the place. 

Step 5: Once the whole procedure is done, the dentist usually schedules a follow-up appointment. 

What is the risk and complications associated with Crown/Bridge PFM per unit?
