We were late so missed our appointment slot but they took our documents for review when we were in waiting. The other family came out of clinic started discussing that dr has not given medication from here and advised some leukemia clinic of mayo hospital for free medicine. I was impressed. I was still waiting and the PA then took our scans for submission. We were asked about patient knowledge & confidence then called in doctor room and dr was very open in his discission. Had been to famous cancer oncologists and reached 3 options of treatment from them, with 2 options being very appealing. This was our first visit here and dr gave us all 3 options, asking our financial priorities and making us recommendations. Very very satisfied. Good human beings are otherwise extremely hard to come by. Gratified and grateful.

We are getting treatment from Inmol, Dr Afham guided us very well. otherwise doosray doctor to baat he nai suntay. very good experience. Fully recommended. Gave us details and guidance regarding how we should proceed free and save money. Didn't lure us to get treatment because our free method was satisfactory but needed improvement.

Very glad with experience. Dr afaam is talented and caring. We are already visiting other oncologist but saw the ratings and decided to take appointment. Dr is very very cooperative and considers financial issues as well. He advised and enrcouraged us to continue same plan with previous dr where we are already going. Offered very good discount on Agha khan labs as well.

To sum it up, Dr Afham simply exceeded my expectations. I'm writing my detailed experience. So yes, I had to wait a little, First Staff confirmed name of patient and my relation to the patient, and then my file was submitted. After a few minutes, I was asked by assistant whether the patient knows about disease. Then, we were called to the office. At first look, he is very young and energetic, welcomed us with a loud Salam. Starting from that Salam was a sense of reassurance and warmth more than I expected. He is the only doctor that looked directly in the eyes of my father and asked him How my father was feeling in general. Then he asked regarding some medical signs and then asked what we understand about disease. I have never seen my father so engaged by a doctor. My father knew before hand that we cannot finish this disease but this doctor is the only one who gave us options and added my father's preference to the plan of what can be done. Majority of my concerns and apprehensions were addressed. Beyond everything he satisfied and addressed the most important part, THE PATIENT. I'm amazed. I can say his words had an emotional impact on my father and on me. I can say he gave us a lifeline because he confidently gave my father positive vibe and sense of importance by putting him in the treatment plan which no one else did. Thank you. Thank you. Okay so we visited Dr Muhammad Afham Shahid and we are very very satisfied. Previously we have visited a lot of doctors and they were top cancer specialists of Lahore. Dr Afham is different I am really impressed. He is the best oncologist, and more so the best doctor we have ever met. He is not like other specialists we have been to, as most of the others tried to make us wait, with the PA trying to turn us down that mostly that the doctor is very busy, making us wait for hours needlessly. Most of the other doctors do not appreciate questions. Almost all of the doctors are relatively arrogant. One doctor tried to trap us that we should start chemotherapy instantly and get admitted. I didnot find Dr Afham as arrogant or bossy or dodgy. He briefed us very openly and calmy answered my questions and concluded options we should follow. He was not in hurry to give chemotherapy but openly recommended us chemotherapy. We deliberately asked him whether we can get treatment from Govt setup and to our surprise he positively responded saying "treatment karani zaroor hay". He gave us options to go to INMOL, Mayo hospital and others. I'm impressed with the open approach because one doctor previously had said, "phir meray pass aye kyun ho". We were worried to disclose nature of cancer to Daddy that he will be depressed, but also wanted to tell him, and we had requested that Afham sb would disclose this. We were surprised that Dr sb talked and convinced Daddy for therapy, talking about chemotherapy openly & directly, and after getting this session, Daddy was quite convinced and took keen interest and asked his own questions. He subconsciously accepted and submitted for all treatment. He improved a lot despite last stage. We need more doctors that are caring and kind.

I was recommended by a very close friend and doctor to visit Dr Afham and I started with internet to see his reviews, which were impressive. Then, I booked for Surgimed Hospital and went there. The hospital is old and needs remodelling, to be honest. The hospital needs improvement. But area of Oncology center was better. There was little to no wait time when I went there and my impression was "kis Kay pass phans gya, iss k pass to koi patients hay eee naheen". First my documents were taken by His staff for some review, and then a few moments later, I entered the doctor room. He said full Salam and requested me to sit. His tone was heart warming. But I was seriously concerned that this Dr is very young, how can he be cancer specialist. But as my discussion went deep, I realized that he was quite open to queries unlike most of the big names I had gone to. Others used to cut me off and disliked my questions. I went to ask about immunotherapy and Dr Afham told me there were many different options in immunotherapy. His team calculates package for every patient and then tells cost. I'm thoroughly impressed and have no words to tell how grateful I am to Dr Afham. Aik cancer k Dr ka easy ho k baat kar Lena he bari baat hay. I felt like I had a discussion with my brother. Unlike other specialists, he didn't say k bus AP 6 lagwain Baki later dekh lain ge. Instead he said agar affordability issue hay to immunotherapy ki option void kar dain, which I never expected. He was quite confident and helping. Jub me room say bahir Aya to kaafi patients bethay thay. Aglay ki docs pehlay hee ja chuki thin and patients ko kemo lagg Rahi theen. Wishes to keep up the good spirits and I hope he never loses this charm and compassion. Patient ko bohot acha samjhaya, Meray say nai ho Raha tha. Marvellous experience.

I had the privilege of meeting up with Dr Afham Shahid for a checkup. I'm grateful for the honesty and the candid approach he had. None of the other specialists were this much straight forward and most of others didn't even let me finish my question and used to cut me off. Dr Afham had a very positive approach. He has the latest knowledge and provides his opinion, while being realistic. He told us about latest medicines & immunotherapies and latest therapies etc etc and gives us options. He also hints what is bare minimum and should be necessarily done. I recommend him based on his knowledge and professional approach he had. I hope he keeps up these positive spirits in the future and does not let greed eat him up like other specialists. Honest opinions are rare these days and I found him best cancer specialist that expanded our options instead of trying to corner us to some treatment in his setup. Recommended.
