Talk to Pediatric Neurosurgeon on Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy

My baby born pre term at 35 weeks suffered birth asphyxia and was ventilated, remained seizure free and had episodes of wakefulness. Suffered metabolic disorder and developed cerebral edema on day 7 with decreased sensorium. Ultrasound on day 9 showed bilateral parietal lobe infarcts and rest of brain normal. CT scan was followed that shows bilateral cerebral diffuse HIE and cerebral edema, normal brain stem, basal ganglia and thalamus. I want to ask what will be the effects in present and future? How profound and prolong and will they improve?
