Talk to Pediatric Ophthalmologist on Squint In Eyes Of My 5 Months Old Son

My 5-month-old son has squint in his eyes. We consulted a pediatrician and he said wait untill he is 1 years old and then we will see what to do. But People are telling us to visit some Ophthalmologist at earliest otherwise squint will.not be curable in future. kindly advise me what to do. I am living in Sialkot where Pediatric Ophthalmologist is not available . kindly guide me on what to do? Opthalmologist has the equipment to check Squint related problems of A 5 month old baby? kindly guide me.
