Dental cavities cannot be filled at home. By root filling you mean to say Root Canal Treatment(RCT) ? RCT charges vary in different clinics. RCT is not always a treatment for dental cavities. Simple filling can do the job aswell if you visit your dentist on time.

No cavity can't be treated at home. The pain maybe subsided temporarily by some NSAIDs but the problem will still persist. RCT charges varies , depends on the expertise of the doctor and location of the clinic
