Hi. As you can see in the picture that my wisdom tooth are impacted. Lower two wisdom tooth cause me a lot of pain. I consulted a doctor and he suggested me that we will operate on you by giving general anesthesia and will remove all four wisdom teeth at once. Please suggest is it a good idea?

Looking at your specific case, taking out all the four wisdom teeth under general anaesthesia is a good idea.

Do you suggest that upper ones should be extracted out as well? As they are not painful at this point?

the impacted teeth will somehow interfare with the rest of dentition because of their position as can be seen on radiograph. if you are planning on extraction of all it is better to go for GA. but these can be pulled out in different sitings which would cause discomfort at the said appointments. so its better to take out in a sigle surgery.

the upper right one needs to be extracted to avoid future complaint. the left one is fine but it lacks occlusal contact with the lower counterpart. so this one will somehow come down compare to the rest of the teeth. so suggestion for extraction of all stays. depending upon fitness for GA.

Dear patient it's totally your choice you can go for 1 side .e.g right side upper n lower under local anesthesia at once.
after 1 week or max 10 days u should go for left side accordingly
getting all 4 done all at once that too under GA is not too ideal as ur eating will b highly compromised
u personally do it upper n lower on same side so that patient can eat from opposite side easily .

yes cos they are angulated.
means they r not upright
they r tilted towards your cheek more over when lower one goes automatically it never helps u in chewing so it's not functional
constant trauma to ur cheek can have its consequences.
so go for upper n lower on same side at once

Dear patient. the advantage of GA is that all four can be taken out in one visit. But removal of wisdoms in Local anaesthesia/chair side is a very common practice. it's your choice what you want to opt for. The usual practice entails taking two teeth, upper and lower of the same side in one visit. we give the patient a rest of about 10 days and then do the other side. Take care
