Asking for Self, Female, 23 years old, Brazil
I am a 23-year-old woman with no comorbidities and I need to have my 4 wisdom teeth removed. However, I am a little worried about the proximity of the nerve (upper and lower) to the roots of the teeth. I have read in some places that there is a risk of paresthesia and other risks due to the proximity to the trigeminal nerve. I would like to know if this risk is really high in my case? Thank you!
Yes your concerns are right. There is slight risk. You must do cone beam ct scan Cbct to know exact proximity to nerve.
hi yez you are roght but to chekc you mist do CBCt its a cone beam ct scan to know exact proximity to nerve but parasthesia very rare things to happen,if a food surgeon is doin your work he will take care of everthing, you need to go to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon
yes the inferior alveolar nerve is very near to the roots of teeth so your concerns related to teeth are true you need to visit an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for further evaluation
Please visit us for detailed checkup
The risk for injury is 3.6% according to the research, its minimal if handled by a professional. Kindly have your extractions by an OMFS surgeon, a dentist who has done FCPS in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
yes in your case there is a risk of temp pareshthesia (neuropraxia) which will recover in few days time.but careful surgical removal can avoid it in case of lower.in upper there is not much risk.
