Last year my already done RCT (upper right 4th) started aching within a month. Then I went for an xray that shows a pin like substance is there inside the root. Tried having another RCT but that substance has created a ledge which is why infection is reoccurring since then. Now dentist is suggesting if it gets serious it's gonna be extracted. I'm here for second opinion.
it's separatec instrument. ist you need to get RCT complete . if still pain then you need surgical RCT ( Periradivular surgery) to save tooth .
It needs to be disinfected properly and tried for completion of rct with proper obturation but if symptoms doesnt resolve then you might need apicectomy or extraction of tooth
Will advice you to go for extraction directly
If U visit qualified endodontist then this fractured piece can be retrieved or bypassed to complete RCT.Last option can be extraction of tooth
To get this removed you'll need an Endodontist but he might also be not successful. You can get it removed it'll be better for an implant or a bridge to take its place.
Kindly tell your dentist to fill the prepared canals and then do a final Xray . If it get infected anytime then one can decide the ultimate treatment
your root canal is incomplete and there is a broken file in your canal so its prognosis is poor....this tooth should be extracted....but if you want to save your tooth you should visit a good experienced dentist and have your root canal completed....
Repeat the RCT
