Get him rinses with salt In hot water and give him one spoon syp Tercica, in case of pain.. He is having new tooth eruption in the mouth and it's quite normal as it seems through picture.. Do consult with dentist
Warm water rinses with a pinch of salt 8 times a day for 5 days

The best solution for to relieve swelling is to do warm saline rinses.
Moreover I would advise you to use a small head brush and try to brush that area with special attention. It will relieve most of the swelling and pain.

its probable cause is due to eruption of wisdom tooth. all you just have to take painkillers to relieve pain and use any suitable mouthwash with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. And try to avoid eating from affected side untill the symptoms resolve!
