Hi, I had my wisdom tooth extracted two months ago because it was causing severe pain and making it very difficult to eat or drink. It has been almost two weeks now that the area where the tooth was removed—the very back of the jaw—has started hurting intensely again. I have been taking medicine for two weeks and have consulted 2 or 3 doctors. They mentioned there is an infection (pus) and prescribed painkillers accordingly, but the pain hasn't subsided. Because of this pain, I am feeling discomfort stretching from my ear and throat all the way down to my arm. The pain becomes so severe at night that I cannot sleep without medication. I am also experiencing extreme sensitivity to hot and cold, which wasn't happening before. I have tried applying heat to that side and gargling with warm water, but nothing is helping. Please tell me what I should do.
Could be that the the second last molar is affected by the 3rd molar when it was present, or some fragment of the 3rd molar wasn't removed. It will need detailed evaluation tp ascertain the cause and remedy
It could be caused by any fragment of 3rd molar left behind or trauma to the 2nd molar by 3rd molar. It needs to be assessed for determining the cause and solution
It would need clinical evaluation. there could be a remnant of extracted tooth or any trauma to adjacent teeth or it could be that there is a sharp bony fragment.Either of these needs clinical examination and intervention. Medication is just for temporary relief.
ypi wpuld need to get it checked to evaluate if there is some thing left in it ( a tooth fragmenr ir bony spicule ) or there is a dry socket.

could be 2nd last molar or any other teeth of same side or any fragment left, if not, most probably dry socket
get your opg done
and evaluate the proper cause.
pain at night indicates Root canal of tooth .it may be due to 7 molar.
it is most probably dry socket, visit nearby dentist, debridement and local analgesics
Visit a dentist for a checkup to evaluate if the pain is coming from extraction site or from a nearby tooth as extraction site shouldn’t cause sensitivity.
