yes it should be done and replaced by artificial eye soon otherwise there would be asymmetry which would be permanent
This is a very important case.
Once eye is shrunken, vision is almost impossible to restore.
But for normal development of facial bones, there must be a mass (prosthetic eye) inside the orbital space for normal induction of surrounding structural development.
Yes it can be done at any age group.
