Patient having history of epilepsy can have an attack again at any its best to consult with neuro physician before withdrawing the medication completely.

if there is 2 yr seizure free time, then no treatment is required. I think he shd continue epival 250 mg 1+1, tab ascard 75 mg 1 daily fr 2 yrs. I don't know if MRI was done or not.

usually antiepileptics are only tapered off if the seizure free interval is 2 years. Chances of recurrence are 25 to 30% but vary from patient to patient. This should be discussed and decided by a neurologist alongwith detailed history, exam and relevant investogations so please consult one.
