book an appointment
yes u can consult me online
yes please, no need to visit you can just book a video consultation and we can discuss and device a better treatment plan for him.
Thanks for reaching out. Recurrent cellulitis in a diabetic patient with a history of CABG definitely needs a proper evaluation beyond just oral antibiotics.
We need to look into underlying causes like poor glycemic control, venous insufficiency, or fungal infections acting as entry points. A workup including blood tests (CBC, HbA1c), and a Doppler of the lower limb would be helpful.
You can start with an online consult, but I’d recommend an in-person visit for a more thorough assessment and long-term management plan.
Happy to help if needed.
yes
Yes get him checked properly
You need to make sure he keeps his leg foot hygiene and diabetes is under strict control. Wear closed shoes with clean socks NO SLIPPERS.
1.If he is having cellulitis right now!!!
He needs antiobiotics depending on his condition - Oral/IV(in hospital).. he will need some test like culture to klow which organism which antibiotic and RFTs(renal impairment) monitoring
duration could be 7-14days
2.As it is recurring and he has low immunity, heart problem plus diabetes
he needs daily skin care to avoid further infection causes from wounds or ulcers etc. If swelling of legs-compression stockings leg elevation can be done at home plus physiotherapy. Prophylactic antibiotic (to prevent infection from occuring before it comes. his diabetes should be controlled and monitored to avoid worsening infections. Heart medication should also be monitored.
Foot care as he is diabetic and vaccination (pnemococcal and COVID) to avoid further diseases. RFTs are important as he is diabetic and if on antibiotics often.
After doing all this follow up is depended on the condition of your father and test results.
yes check up properly

Is he taking antibiotics? Kindly mark his leg with redness and date
5 months ago
when you mark the redness above you will notice after taking antibiotics if redness is spreading above the line or decreasing day by day towards foot. If the redness decreases below the line then it is a good sign. If the redness goes beyond the line above towards knee then it is worsening. Kindly keep check on redness if it is reducing or spreading more. You can only tell if you mark it with date/day. Guessing is not a good option in your father‘s case.
