Talk to General Practitioner on Constant Throat Clearing
Asking For Mother, Female 60, Karachi
My mother had COVID 3 months ago. She is facing constant throat clearing since last 3 months. When there is no throat clearing there is dry cough. Her nose also run for few minutes first thing in the morning and after food intake. She is already taking PPI Zopent 40 mg. Tried every home remedy but nothing seems to work and throat clearing is becoming chronic.
What is her age
Is she diabetic
she is allergic so she needs to take extra care from cold dust etc please nebulize her regularly with normal saline 3 times a day for atleas 15 minutes always use warm water instead cold and regularly take jinger tea these remedies work better then any medication
Give her once daily in the morning after breakfast for 10days.
diabetes or hi bp? stop zopent. give tab Desora 1 daily nite, tab floaid 10 mg 1 daily nite. Syp Cofif 5 ml 2 time daily fr 5 days. if still not better, consult online or come fr check up
Give her medical history and what is her hydration and diet status? What's color of her face, hand, feet and nails? If shortness of breathe /fever/swallowing difficulty also increasing,, need urgent nebulization with atem and clenil.. Also give her one tab monteka 10mg and tab softin 10mg one each,, Also give her Insignia cough syrup 2 tablespoon.. This is urgent general treatment only. Patient needs detailed checkup again. no fever/no sob already taking montelukast 10 mg at night. gave softin too didn't worked.

She has sufferred from covid,,,immune system and especially respiratory tract got infected,, internally will take time to heal completely. Meanwhile it's December and season of sore throat, chest infections etc.
,, she should have good nutrition esp immune boosting liquid diet like broths, Soups, ginger cinnamon Cardamom tea off n on,, if body aches, fatigue still persists,,, she needs to have repeat CP with ESR to decide antibiotic for her.. You can consult online afterwards

Telefast D 1 a day
Cap Zopent 40mg once daily half an hour before meal. Syp gaviscon Adv 2 tablespoons an hour after meal twice a day. Complete avoidance of tea, coffee, spicy and fried food. The head end of the bed should be raised making a slope of it. This is due to acid reflux from the stomach. Stomach issues are treat 25% with the medicines and 75% with diet restriction. Try this for 3 weeks and if still things don’t go in the good direction, contact back.

sure will try doing this. she is already taking Zopent 40mg from past 4-5 months. I doubt if these are because of the side effects of the medicines she is taking.
Zopent 40 mg OD
Eltroxin 1100 mg in a week
Nebivolol 5 mg OD
Lasix 40 mg OD
Xenglumet 12.5/500 OD
Xcept 10 mg OD
Galvusmet 50/500 OD
She also takes Seritide Diskus 2 puffs daily, I doubt on this because it's main side effect is hoarness/throat irritation

Medication for high blood pressure?
Please Replace zopent with cap koncept 40mg daily and follow the other instructions. You can contact me back after 3 weeks. Dust, cold water, cold wind should be avoided.

And she should take small meals with increased frequency rather than taking large meals with decreased frequency. If she eats 2 times a day make it 4 times with 1/4th of the portion of the meal at a time. Increase salad intake and do walk regularly. Thanks

take an anti allergic e.g desloratidine preferably
take a ppi e.g pantoprazole preferably
avoid bakery , fizzy drinks, fast foods &tea/coffee
less spices in life
do gargles in early morning regularly

Already taking anti allergy Softin + PPI Zopent 40 mg. they are not working. no fast food no bakery items no drinks she only takes tea that's it
