Asking for Mother, Female, 71 years old, Sialkot

My mother is suffering from diabetes for over 20 years, she is on insulin and take precautions advised by doctor. Recently, she has developed svere abdominal pain, most of the times on right side and sometimes on left side, which starts from back and goes all the way to belly. We have been getting her checked regularly but she isnt getting better unfortunately. I have few recent test reports to share asked by doctor to perform. Will be looking to see doctors in hospital around sialkot, lahore and waiting for suggestion. Kind Regards Umar

Thank you for your question. Based on your CT scan, the adrenal lesion with 78% washout is most likely a benign adrenal adenoma, which usually does not require surgery. However, it's important to rule out any hormonal activity. I recommend getting some blood tests to check this:

Overnight dexamethasone suppression test (to rule out excess cortisol)

Plasma metanephrines (to rule out pheochromocytoma)

Aldosterone/renin ratio (if there's high blood pressure or low potassium)

Follow up with your doctor with the results. She needs to consult a proper endocrinologist
