baby has 4.5 kg wt. dark yellow urine , yellow eyes, white chalky stool , hepatospleenomegaly , we came to know about his problem when he was 8 months old and many doctors rejected for surgery because of his age .. we want to operate him.. Now what protocol should be better any suggestion?
If it is diagnosed case of biliary atresia then surgery cant be done at this age, as surgery is only beneficial below 90 days of age
At this point the only option is to go for liver transplant
However exact situation can be assessed and discussed after seeing the patient

Liver transplant is the only option if no other contraindications at 1 year with biliary atresia
At this age, liver transplant is better and only option for biliary atresia.
