Talk to Periodontist on Persistent Gum Inflammation After Scaling

I had inflamed gums and visited a dentist. They performed scaling in two sessions, but the inflammation did not completely resolve and returned again after about a week, even though I brush my teeth daily. Could you please advise what might be causing this?
