Frequently Asked Questions about Capoten Tablet

Dry cough is a common side effect of all ACE inhibitors including Capoten. It happens because the medicine increases levels of bradykinin, a substance that can irritate the airways. If the cough is troublesome, talk to your doctor who may switch you to a different type of blood pressure medication.
Capoten should be taken on an empty stomach, ideally 1 hour before meals. Food can reduce the absorption of the medicine by up to 40%, making it less effective. If you have a stomach upset, take it with a small amount of water.
You should limit high-potassium foods like bananas, oranges, and potatoes while taking Capoten. The medicine can increase potassium levels in your blood, and eating too many potassium-rich foods may cause dangerous high potassium levels. Discuss your diet with your doctor.
Capoten Tablet price in Pakistan is approximately Rs. 267 for 25mg (20 tablets) and Rs. 462 for 50mg (20 tablets). Prices may vary between pharmacies.
