It contains dexlansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that lowers the amount of acid the stomach makes, and its dual delayed-release capsule releases the medicine in two stages. Your doctor might give you Dextop Capsule for:

• Healing of erosive esophagitis
• Keeping healed esophagitis from coming back
• Heartburn due to acid reflux
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease

Dextop Capsule Dosage and Administration

Always follow your doctor's instructions exactly.

Adult Dosage:

• Healing of erosive esophagitis: 60mg once daily for up to 8 weeks
• Maintenance after healing: 30mg once daily
• Heartburn due to reflux: 30mg once daily for 4 weeks
• Moderate liver problems: maximum 30mg daily

Children Dosage:

• 12 to 17 years: same as adult dosage
• Not recommended for children under 12 years

How to Take:

• Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not chew it.
• Take it with or without food.
• If swallowing is hard, open the capsule, sprinkle the granules on a spoon of applesauce, and swallow at once without chewing.
• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless the next dose is near; never take two doses together.

Don't use Dextop Capsule if you:

• Are allergic to dexlansoprazole or any ingredient
• Take medicines that contain rilpivirine for HIV
