It contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that lowers the amount of acid the stomach makes, which lets the stomach and food pipe heal. Your doctor might give you Ezium Capsule for:

• Heartburn and acid reflux
• Healing of erosive esophagitis
• Keeping healed esophagitis from coming back
• Preventing stomach ulcers caused by painkillers
• H. pylori infection, with antibiotics
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Ezium Capsule Dosage and Administration

Always follow your doctor's instructions exactly.

Adult Dosage:

• Heartburn and reflux: 20mg once daily for 4 weeks
• Healing of erosive esophagitis: 20mg or 40mg once daily for 4 to 8 weeks
• Maintenance after healing: 20mg once daily
• Preventing ulcers from painkillers: 20mg or 40mg once daily
• H. pylori: 40mg once daily with two antibiotics for 10 days
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: 40mg twice daily, adjusted by your doctor
• Severe liver problems: maximum 20mg daily

Children Dosage:

• 12 to 17 years: 20mg or 40mg once daily, as your doctor advises
• Not recommended for children under 12 years in this form

How to Take:

• Take it at least 1 hour before a meal.
• Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not chew or crush it.
• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless the next dose is near; never take two doses together.

Ezium Capsule Warnings

Don't use Ezium Capsule if you:

• Are allergic to esomeprazole, omeprazole, or similar medicines
• Take medicines that contain rilpivirine for HIV
