Hidrasec Sachet uses include treating acute diarrhea in adults, children, and infants over 3 months of age. It contains Racecadotril, a peripherally acting antidiarrheal that inhibits enkephalinase enzyme in the intestinal lining, reducing water and electrolyte secretion into the intestine without affecting normal gut motility. It is safer than other antidiarrheals as it does not cause constipation.

Your doctor might give you Hidrasec Sachet for:

• Acute diarrhea in infants and children
• Traveler's diarrhea
• Viral gastroenteritis
• Rotavirus diarrhea in children
• Reduction of stool output and frequency

Hidrasec Sachet Dosage and Administration

Always follow your doctor's instructions exactly.

Adult Dosage:

• One 100mg capsule three times daily.

Children Dosage:

• Infants over 3 months and under 9kg: one 10mg sachet three times daily.
• Children 9kg to 13kg: two 10mg sachets three times daily.
• Children 13kg to 27kg: one 30mg sachet three times daily.
• Children over 27kg: two 30mg sachets three times daily.

How to Take:

• Empty the contents of the sachet into a glass of water or feed.
• Stir well until the powder dissolves.
• Drink or administer immediately.
• Continue for up to 7 days or until diarrhea stops.

Hidrasec Sachet Warnings

Don't use Hidrasec Sachet if you:

• Are allergic to Racecadotril or any ingredient
• Have chronic diarrhea
• Have diarrhea with fever, bloody or purulent stools
• Have antibiotic-associated diarrhea
• Have known intolerance to fructose or sucrose

Hidrasec Sachet Precautions

Talk with your doctor first if you:

• Have kidney or liver problems
• Have persistent vomiting
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have diabetes (contains sucrose)

Also, remember:

• Continue oral rehydration therapy alongside
• Discontinue if symptoms do not improve in 7 days
• Not for chronic diarrhea
• Seek immediate care if signs of dehydration appear
