Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Khawaja

Dr. Iftikhar Khawaja is a highly experienced Consultant Neurologist with over 36 years of clinical and academic experience. He completed his MBBS from Punjab University, Lahore, followed by further medical training in London. He holds DCMT and MRCP qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians, London.

Dr. Khawaja has served as Head of Neurology at PIMS Islamabad and later worked as a Consultant Physician in hospitals across England and Scotland. His international training and practice have enabled him to deliver evidence-based neurological care aligned with global standards.

He has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of:

• Stroke and post-stroke rehabilitation

• Thrombolysis (clot-dissolving treatment for acute stroke)

• Parkinson’s disease and tremors

• Epilepsy

• Migraine and chronic headaches

• Dementia and memory disorders

• Back pain and related neurological conditions

During his practice in the United Kingdom, Dr. Khawaja participated in advanced stroke management programs, including thrombolysis therapy, which significantly improves recovery when administered in time.
