Talk to Allergy Specialist on Herpes (shillings)

I recently woke up with a cluster of itchy bumps on the right side of my body (neck, ear and scalp) in particular. Ignored it for a while because my skin is generally acne prone until my nights became uncomfortable.

The dermatologist says I have herpes and gave a few medicines but wasn't very specific about a certain things. Like what do I do when the itchy and burning becomes unbearable at night? Can I still have my coffee? What foods should I avoid? How do I take care of this condition - do i leave it dry or wash it regularly or what? Can I cover it with a dopatta? (it itches though). Also, most importantly, how long would it last? I'm super sad about my condition and just want it over with. I have a few close relatives' weddings coming up too... I'm following the doctor's prescribed medication but haven't seen any changes yet.

Can use some guidance from someone who's gone through the same problem.

PS: I'm 27, female, virgin.
