Talk to Allergy Specialist on Old Skin Allergy

Hello,

I need advice from a skin and allergy specialist.

The patient has had a skin allergy issue for the past 10 years. Whenever she uses used items such as bedsheets, blankets, towels, or certain soaps, she develops rashes all over her body. The rash usually lasts for 2–3 days and then disappears.

The main reason I am posting this is that she recently developed a dry cough and shortness of breath, and she also has anaemia with a haemoglobin level of 8.5.

After two weeks of treatment, her cough is still present, along with breathing difficulties.

Yesterday, the patient visited another doctor who prescribed some medicines. However, after taking the first dose, she developed an allergic reaction.

Now she is worried whether these medicines can cause skin allergies as a side effect or if they are safe for her to use.

The doctor prescribed the medication for 20 days. My question is: can she continue taking this medicine for at least one week, or is there any risk that continuing it could worsen the allergy?
