Asking for Self, Male, 20 years old, Sindh

I keep questioning my se×ual orientation. I can recognize that some men are handsome or physically attractive, but my mind immediately tells me, "What if you're bise×ual?" This thought causes me severe distress. I appreciate male appearance, but I do not want to be se×ually attracted to men. Even seeing male gen!tals out of curiosity makes my mind insist it means se×ual attraction.

I also experience intrusive incest-related thoughts. If my eyes accidentally glance at a pr!vate area of a female family member, I feel se×ually attracted to her that parts not to them as a person but this is disgusting. I hate these thoughts, do not want them, and they cause intense distress. These all are unwanted.

I have a history of trauma, depression, anxiety, and other psychological difficulties. Previous therapy was too brief and infrequent to help. I am looking for 1.5-hour sessions, two or three times a week. My mind feels like a living hell.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. From what you’ve described, these thoughts appear to be unwanted and are causing you significant distress. It would not be appropriate to determine your sexual orientation or offer a diagnosis based on an online post alone.

Given your history and the severity of your symptoms, I would recommend a comprehensive psychological assessment with a clinical psychologist. While the frequency of therapy varies from person to person, sessions are typically 45 to 60 minutes once a week. In more severe cases, longer or more frequent sessions may be recommended initially if clinically indicated.

Therapy is also a collaborative process. Meaningful progress depends not only on the treatment approach but also on your willingness to actively engage in the therapeutic work and practice strategies between sessions.

If you’d like, you’re welcome to book a consultation with me. Following a detailed assessment, we can determine the most appropriate treatment plan and session frequency based on your individual needs.

Thank you for sharing your concerns so openly. From what you have described, these thoughts appear to be unwanted, intrusive, and distressing, and they do not necessarily reflect your true desires or identity. Many individuals experience intrusive thoughts that feel frightening, especially when there is a history of anxiety, trauma, or OCD-related symptoms.

A comprehensive psychological assessment is important before reaching any conclusion. With appropriate therapy, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) when indicated, along with trauma-focused interventions if needed, these symptoms can improve significantly.

Since you mentioned that your distress is severe and previous therapy was insufficient, I would recommend regular sessions with a clinical psychologist for a detailed assessment and individualized treatment plan. You do not have to go through this alone, and with consistent treatment, recovery is possible.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. From what you’ve shared, it sounds like these thoughts are causing you a lot of distress, and the fact that you don’t want them is important. Thoughts like these don’t necessarily reflect who you are or what you truly want. I’d encourage you to see a psychologist who has experience working with intrusive thoughts and anxiety. With the right treatment, many people experience significant improvement. You don’t have to go through this alone.

What you're describing sounds very distressing, but these unwanted intrusive thoughts are treatable and do not define who you are. A detailed psychological assessment is important to understand what's maintaining these thoughts and develop an effective treatment plan. You can book a confidential session to discuss your concerns in depth and receive structured, evidence-based support. Contact Whatsapp: 042-34500888,
