I was having tooth ache due to tooth infection and on the same day my dentist done my root canal without offering any prior antibiotic treatment.Since that day (about 4 days ago) i am having severe infection and pain.I am 22 weeks pregnant having Velocef 500mg 3 times a day with Panadol but there is no improvement. Since yesterday i was having severe swelling along with pain. My pain only fades for about 2-3 hours after my antibiotic dose. Is it normal?
You need to see a dentist near by to you for proper diagnosis and treatment .
U have to visit dentist, dentist will do xray and remove this filling. U have to garagle with normal saline (luke warm).
there are medications that can be placed which relieves an infected tooth. In mist cases pain gets better after the first visit. please visit your dentist or another dentist for diagnosis. antibiotic treatment isnt safe long term during pregnancy
I dont think u have to take bundle of medicine in tbis condition and after this procedure.
take amoxil 500mg 3 times a day for 5 days
along with panadol
complete the rct I think you have done only one visit.and take cap amoxil instead of velosef
take augmentin 625mg twice a day with 2 tab Panadol when U feel pain . if U can visit us we will give to temporary relief till U get free
firstly i dont think velocef is safe did you ask your gyne dr ?? secondly u should go to the dentist office there are some.intracanal medixns that can be placed inside canal some relief
It's protocol Ur dentist followed. Antibiotics more effective if rct is done first. U must be pain free during pregnancy. U can consult Ur dentist again and he may change pain killer to keep u pain free. Antibiotics have no role in pain.
Perhaps change your dr , go for re root canal to remove any debris also change anti biotics

it's not necessary to give antibiotic before starting root canal. visit your dentist again and discuss this issue . during pregnancy toothache takes time to go away . and start rinsing with a pinch of salt in lukewarm water 3 times a day it will give u some relief from swelling and pain and visit ur dentist again he/she will do something to relief ur pain. and consult your gynae before taking velosafe
no its not normal ....you should go for peri apical x-ray..and if required ask your doctor for re-endo treatment..
aoa,you should go back to your dentist,he has to clean your tooth again,take out the filling and put medicine in your canals.if you think your dentist is not good then plz change her/him.
in case of severe pain take augmentin 625 mg flagyl 400mg and panadol 500mg ....thats are the safest drugs in pregnancy ..n thn go to the dentist near you ..n say it to do xray if there is problem related infection then open ur tooth to release the pressure of pain ...n do re rct if needed .....firstly go n do opening of tooth that will release the pressure of pain ..if infection present

Some medications are placed in the teeth after proper irrigation and removal of infected soft tissue inside the tooth (pulp). Kindly visit your dentist, it will relief your pain and there will be more likely no need of antibiotic after that

This neglect is quite common in married ladies in our country , we are pain oriented people. Go to good experienced dentist and take any medicine after consulting ur gynaecologist. If during pregnancy u need any dental x-ray go to x-ray facility where they put lead apron on patient before doing an x-ray .
yes, it happens when there's infection left in treated tooth, but any procedure requiring anesthesia can't be performed during pregnancy, take pregnancy safe antibiotics and gargle with saline water, if still nothing happens visit your dentist in second trimester after permission from your gynecologist.
no, its not , the problem is with your root canal , antibiotics have no role , just visit dental office and get your re root canal done or get your tooth removed
Visit Back Your Dentist and ask Him to Remove the Temporary or Permanent Filling on the tooth that was treatment by Root Canal Treatment, and Clean the Canals again and place Intracanal Medicament Calcium Hydroxide in the affected canals for 7 days atleast.. And Take The Above Antibiotics for 5 Days With addition of Danzan DS.
