Talk to Diabetologist on About Insulin Dose
Asking For Mother, Female 72, abbottabad
My mother had a an inscional hernia surgery last tuesday, after surgery she has been advised to switch to insulin with 6units 3 times a day, before she was taking Gevia M for sugar, but today after injecting insulin her sugar is not dropping. Kindly advise what to do.

Need to increase units as per sugar levels to improve healing of wound , also can carefully continue oral medicine if sugar is still high and also avoid sugary items to avoid unnecessary spikes in sugar levels .Looks like sugar is already not controlled , need to bring to desired levels .Need evaluation by Diabetologist to avoid unnecessary hypoglycemia as risk in old age is higher

Where are you located?? Consult with a physician and ask him to adjust her insulin accordingly, she needs adjustment in her insulin regimen along with monitoring.
