He developed a non-traumatic diabetic foot ulcer as a result of prolonged high blood glucose levels and was admitted to a government hospital for 30 days. Although the wound has now healed, the outer side of his foot remains swollen and discolored. At this stage, should we consult a diabetes specialist or a musculoskeletal (orthopedic) surgeon for further evaluation and care?
